There’s Magic in the Air

I have some good friends who are professional magicians. They wave a wand, say a few incantations, and make a rabbit disappear. Anyone who’s paying attention isn’t fooled, of course, though it’s always entertaining to watch.
One could say the same thing – anyone who’s paying attention isn’t fooled – to the performances being put on by the nation’s Republican “leadership.”
It’s what prevents anyone with sense from being fooled by the “America First” award presented by House Speaker Mike Johnson to the Narcissist-in-Chief.
Amid an aggressive war that we were promised would never happen, ICE agents expected at Lindbergh Field any day now, and gasoline being sold for almost $9 per gallon at a station in LA (all courtesy of the “Affordability President”), it increasingly seems the party of family values tries to start every morning by asking who they can screw first today.
So perhaps it was no surprise that an Alaskan Republican state legislator’s former chief of

staff was arrested last month for child sexual exploitation and child sex trafficking. This is the same man who was elected as chair of the Anchorage Young Republicans and is the state’s group committee chair.
And – big shocker here - he wasn’t fired from his job until after the charges were publicized.
Obviously, the overwhelming levels of sycophancy, ineptitude, corruption, deception, and perversion we’re experiencing aren’t just limited to the head of the Republican party. After all, if Mr. Trump wasn’t busted for rape, tax fraud and the like, why should the rest of them worry about it?
Trump’s disapproval rating sits at 56% today, and his approval ratings have been underwater for over a year. Democrats are doing 5 points better in a generic White House polling average, and have a 68% chance of capturing the House in just 208 days.
All of which is worth bearing in mind as we head into the thousands of NO KINGS events scheduled for today.
Organizers estimate that 7 million people participated in events last October alone, and expect turnout this weekend to exceed that number. Make sure you’re out there with us to demonstrate that the Republican vision is NOT who we are as a people!
Together we can make all these horrible headlines vanish faster than you can say “Bugs Bunny!”
See you at the ballot box!
Rob
