Positive Lessons from the Carlsbad City Council Campaign
December 29, 2016
Cori Schumacher, newly elected Carlsbad City Councilmember, along with her Campaign Manager, Amanda Mascia, and Coordinator of Volunteers, Lisa McKethan, shared their experience running a successful campaign. They found that the committee structure worked well as smaller groups resulted in quicker action. The campaign used the grassroots with a large number of volunteers who made their own phone calls and hand addressed their mailings. They always had work for volunteers which kept them active in the campaign. Positivity was the key. All volunteers were embraced, the focus was on the local issues. They are continuing to work with volunteers, meeting on a monthly basis.
