Report from the DEMCCO Retreat

On March 31, 2019, 28 members of DEMCCO met to share ideas and develop goals and plans of action for our club.  This exercise was quite satisfying.  The results of our work is presented by clicking on this link: Retreat Report 2

Time for Pre-Endorsement Conferences Soon

WOW! Is it time to elect Pre-Endorsement Conference delegates already?

Because of the early California Presidential Primary Election in early March 2020, the California Democratic Party has moved its convention and endorsements to dates that are several months earlier than they have been in the past.  The state convention in which endorsing caucuses will be held will be November 15-17, 2019.  Pre-Endorsing Conferences in which candidates seek endorsement recommendations for the state party, will be held on October 5-6, 2019.  DEMCCO is able to send delegates (1 for each 20 members) to the Pre-Endorsement Conference for Region 18.  These delegates will be elected (see Bylaws Article IX, Section 3, page 12) at DEMCCO’s June 22, 2019 meeting so that we will meet the deadline of July 9, 2019.  If you are interested in being elected as a DEMCCO delegate to the October 5-6, 2019 Pre-Endorsement Conference, please send an email with your name, email address and phone number to  Delegates must be voting members (dues paid and a member for at least 30 days) of DEMCCO.

Recently elected Political Action Chair, Kyle Krahel-Frolander, has an ambitious program for DEMCCO.  Meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of each month starting at 5:30 p.m. at Bagby’s Beer Company at 601 South Coast Highway in Oceanside.  The first meeting will be April 18.  An area at Bagby’s has been reserved to accomodate our group.  The meeting is open to DEMCCO members and potential DEMCCO members.  Goals include electing Democrats in Oceanside and Carlsbad, and identifying and working on specific issues including Climate Action Plans, all with a focus on taking action.  Please join us on April 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Bagby’s and be part of the grassroots advocacy movement!
